I'm sure by now you've all heard of the growing and wildy popular form of professional wellness help... life coaching. It's a less traditional form of therapy and relies more on teaching individuals how to reach their fullest potential and become the best version of themselves by coaching them through the process.
Just think of it as your personal accountability partner. Who wouldn't like one of these, right? Someone that helps you develop goals and holds you accountable to achieve them, all while increasing your self-awareness. Can we say... yes, please?
As a Life Coach, I've experienced some of the same situations that I strive to help clients overcome: fear, self-doubt, lack of self-awareness, not understanding how to get unstuck, etc. I learned how to not only set achievable goals, but how to work my goals and become the best version of myself. And y'all listen, when I DID figure this out, bay-BEE, it increased my desire to help other women do just that. Not only that, it made me want to continue to reach new levels of self-awareness to ensure that I continued to grow and evolve into the best version of myself.
So, what are the benefits of having a life coach? Well, follow me below to find out a few:
1-ACCOUNTABILITY: arguably one of the biggest benefits of having a life coach. Why? Because your coach has the responsibility of doing just that. Holding you ACCOUNTABLE. Now, sure you can have an accountability partner(s), but what are the chances that you stick to it with them? Things happen and so does life, so who is there to hold you accountable when your selected partner can't? What happens then? Yep, you tend to stop putting in the time and the work to achieve those goals.
So not only will a life coach hold you accountable because that's our job, we do it because we genuinely have an active interest in your life to help you grow and become the best version of yourself. By checking in regularly and helping you to identify your roadblocks, rest assured your life coach will keep you on the right track to advancement.
2-GOAL SETTING: you can't establish a plan without first having goals, right? But here's the thing, do you actually know HOW to set those goals?
Goals should be measurable and attainable. Short term goals should lead up to the long term goals. You can't get to the long term goals without completing the short term goals; they go hand in hand. A coach can help you develop clear, measurable and active goals to ensure that you finally achieve them.
3- GAINING CLARITY: the hardest part about beginning the journey to becoming your best is by knowing WHO you want to become. What do you want to be? What makes you happy? What is your calling and your purpose? In what parts of your life do you want to grow and evolve?
These are a few of the questions that we as coaches will ask in order to help you become this person. As a coach, we ask the questions that get to the deeper parts of you that you may have suppressed. It's important to ask these tough questions in order to get clarity.
4- OVERCOMING FEAR & OBSTACLES: we've all been there. Obstacles are the roadblocks that oftentimes halt forward movement. But the thing is, no matter how bad you want to push through it, you simply don't know how.
Together with a coach, you will identify the obstacles that keep you stuck, including fear. A coach can help you not only recognize your fears, but how to overcome them.
5- PROVIDES SUPPORT: unbiased support is what a coach will provide; true, honest and unbiased support. Yes support can come from family and even close friends. But will that support always be bias free?
We tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear in order to help you achieve your goals. Not only that, a coach will celebrate the highs with you and support you through the lows of your growth.
6- DEVELOP HEALTHY HABITS: holding on to unhealthy habits is another practice that will keep you in a state of complacency. Think about it... how can you become the best of version of yourself by having the same habits that keep you there? Light bulb moment, right?
We can teach you how to develop good, progressive habits that will move you in the direction of your best self. We can help you understand the behaviors that will propel you forward and how to stick to those habits.
